Even tho it sounds silly to say it, sometimes it feels like the conditions have to be perfect to make any progress. For example, “Shit, I ate a donut for breakfast, so today is shot. Forget tomorrow because you can’t start a new habit on a Tuesday. I’ll do better starting next Monday.” Or “I didn’t do well in my workout today, so I should find a new program”. I know it isn’t rational, but it happens. The mental side of training is more difficult that the physical side.
